Ag Retailer Evaluates Biological Fungicides in the Soil Microbiome in Grapes

Natural Grow, an agricultural retailer based in Mexico, wanted to evaluate Fungisei ® from Seipasa (a fertilizer manufacturer from Spain).

The goal was to understand how this particular product affects the soil microbiome in grapes and verify the product claims.  By testing the input, the retailer can understand the best mode of action before recommending the product to their clients.

The Solution

Natural Grow partnered with Biome Makers to carry out BeCrop Trials. BeCrop Trials measure product effectiveness on the soil microbiome by completing a series of soil tests at different times and locations.

BeCrop Trials provide clear indicators for observing disease risks, biocontrol agents, phytohormones, and stress adaptation pathways. Soil samples were taken at two different times. Once before application and a second time after application of the product. This was replicated three times at different locations.

Results

Upon completing the BeCrop Trials, Natural Grow was able to verify several product claims:

  • Reduced risk of fungal diseases
  • Increase of fungicidal agents
  • Improved stress adaptation
  • Respectful of the soil microbiome in terms of soil quality, biodiversity, resilience
